Kindergarten Playdate

The Sunita Williams Welcome Committee invites our new Kindergarteners to the SWES playground for popsicles and play. It’s an informal way for our newest students to meet their classmates and have some familiar faces in the classroom on their first day.

Back to School Picnic

Catch up with old friends - or makes some new ones - as we celebrate the start of the school year together. Bring along a blanket and a picnic or purchase pizza and snacks. The DJ dancing and slushies ensure heading back to school has never been so fun!


Walk/Bike to School Days

Meet up with friends and feel good about starting your day with an environmentally-friendly walk/bike to school. The dates for the 2019/2020 school calendar are:

Literacy Night and Scholastic Book Fair

Meeting a real-life author helps bring literature to life for our emerging writers. This engaging evening typically includes an author presentation, Meet & Greet, and book signing. It enhances the literature curriculum at school and helps build your child’s love of reading.


Family Fun Night

The whole family can enjoy a night out at Sunita Williams for DJ dancing, crafts, games, and FUN!

Candy Bar Bingo

Calling all game lovers! Spend a winter evening playing BINGO with friends for the chance to win fun prizes. “Celebrity” Bingo Callers make the night extra special so you won’t want to miss it.


Sunita Williams v Eliot Basketball

Let’s Go Wildcats!  The children really go “wild” as they cheer for their teachers and parents on the court where they compete against our neighbors at the Eliot Elementary School.  The gym is always rocking for this game of the year!


Night at the Red Sox!

Cheer on the Red Sox at Fenway with your classmates, friends and family!  Ticket sales are placed through the PTC in fall/winter for an early spring game.


Festival of Cultures

Join us for a an evening of hands-on learning to celebrate the diversity represented in our Sunita Williams Community.  Families are invited to host a table or to come and see the creative displays from the participating countries and sample the food offered!


Talent Show

A highlight of spring at SWES is the Talent Show, where our students sing, dance, juggle or otherwise showcase their many unique talents in front of the whole school community.  Prepare to be impressed!


Staff Appreciation

We celebrate the hard work and dedication of our teaching staff by treating them to a themed luncheon at the end of the school year.  We also take many opportunities to say thanks for all they do throughout the school year!


Fifth Grade End of School Festivities

We support the teachers in running the 5th Grade Field Day and give our graduating 5th graders a party to remember at the end of the school year.


Yearbook

The Yearbook Committee, comprised of 5th grade students and our Yearbook Coordinators, produce a keepsake book that illustrates the highlights of the SWES school year. You’ll be pulling this book out for years to come, and all you have to do is buy it!


NEF Spelling Bee

The PTC sponsors three teams (5th grade, teacher, parent) to participate in  the Spelling Bee hosted by Needham Education Foundation (“NEF”) in the early spring.
